Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

The classic approach to treating musculoskeletal conditions involves the use of NSAID drugs. However, these drugs provide only symptomatic relief in the short term and may have adverse effects on damaged tissue over prolonged use.

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy aims to create a favorable environment for recruiting progenitor cells, facilitating the interaction of cytokines and growth factors to stimulate the body's natural healing response for effective tissue repair.

Platelet-rich plasma therapy is based on the principle that platelets and plasma found in the blood can aid in healing and tissue regeneration. PRP treatments are commonly used in sports medicine to repair tendon injuries.

The process involves drawing blood from the patient, which is then processed to create a concentrated solution with a higher concentration of platelets and plasma than regularblood.

A centrifuge is often used for this purpose. The PRP solution is then either injected directly into the injured tendon or applied during surgery to promote healing.
